Santa Cruz was phenomenal. I got to watch the end of the Vans duct tape invitational at the lane and witnessed Tudor and Knost flaring up. The Prime event followed up the next day and the waves were pumping. head high surf all day with virtually no wind and 80 degree weather was such a treat. I got to surf in the usa team heat trials the day before and got a few fun ones. Ended up saturday and sunday surfing 5 hours straight just because of how fun the waves were. Monday I joined up with long time friends Madi Swayne and her boyfriend Conner and we decided to roam Santa Cruz and see some of the culture it's famous for. Got the best cup of coffee of my life at some little coffee shop and found this exquisite little indian food place of walnut avenue that was quite delicious. Afterwards we strolled around watching homeless artists pluck away on their guitars. Met a real character who I wish I could of videoed somehow but had this little advice to give me.
"you wanna know how you become a third degree wingnut"? how I said, well you stand outside one of those stores before it opens and you piss off one of those mannequins till it breaks out of that window and kicks your ass.
