This years contest went pretty smooth. I got a little bit cursed with waves in my quarter final but such is life that you are sometimes on the receiving end of misfortune. I got a 8.5 on my first wave that I waited much of the heat for, and the ocean called it quits and went flat not letting me get a 2nd wave in. announced a bit with Ryan Simmons and Chad Wells and just laughed and had a good time with the surfing community. Waves were really fun and director Alex Parton made a good call to run the event on this weekend. New competitive goal is to win the open mens division but their is some serious talent in that division. Kyle Mcgeary, Alex Gullet, Shea Perkins, and Mike Reilly really stood out to me as guys who are going to be really tough to beat out there next year.
