First off, I"m not the biggest Rob Machado fan. I appreciate the way he surfs but something about him just strikes me as phony. So when future got me these fins,my initial response was "oh bamboo in a surf fin, what a gimmick". Then I tried them. Now I am huge proponent of trying new fins, board designs, and shapers to try and find something that caters to recreation and functionality. These fins are just that. They have an incredible amount of drive and for surfers such as myself, who need a stiffer fin in order to stay on rail, these fins are for you. I know the whole bamboo carbon fiber blend seems a bit out their, but these fins truly have that lively feel that I feel is from the bamboo insert. I've been using these fins for 2 weeks now and what I have found was that in overhead waves, off the bottom they are unprecedented compared to the K 2.1's and the K.3's. These fins I feel are under valued by the surfing world as I have not seen them into many pro's boards or in photographs but they are definitely worth the $100.00 price tag and should be added into your fin quiver. Highly recommend trying them at a surf shop that offers fin demo's. You may become hooked like me.
