My thoughts on ATLAS...

Modern Collective was on of the most successful surf movies that really changed the style and way people approached surfing. Over night, it became pretty apparent wearing tight jeans, dating a brunette model, and driving and audi was the way to be cool. Fast forward a year and a half and the whole "modern mentality" is kind of played out. back of the head beanies are the norm, wearing a v neck is just fitting in.

So here comes lost atlas, same kind of concept, rippable waves off the beaten path, artistic edit, and "indie" rock music versus the techno of M.C. The crew expands to include the likes of Jon Jon, Kolohe, and Julian Wilson, including a few others. Personally, I enjoyed the movie thoroughly. Blake Meyers who swaps out with Blakeway to help Kai edit the flick gave a refreshing rendition from the standard color grading that became popular in 2010. The expansion of the cast was excellent. Jon Jon absolutely killed it and really showed that he has an air game that matches his previously notoriety for being a backdoor guy. Dusty probably has the best part of the movie but other highlights include Craig Anderson's single fin at Green bush and Chippa Wilson's slob shovit body varial.

All in all i think Lost Atlas is a excellent movie that captures the progression of innovative hi fi surfing. is it worth the buy? yes.
