Wow, I haven't updated this much lately. I planned on having some pictures of big fish up here by now, but the fish still haven't started biting that much. Went out to Catalina last week and got skunked. I could have shot little bass, but i'm kind of to the point where it's not that fun, even though they are great to eat. I was diving for White Sea Bass. I have realized that in order to get fish like this, you have to take out the quantity and hope for the quality. Go big or go home. That's pretty much what happened. Here's a picture of some bass me and jared shot from a few weeks back. I'm going to the island early next week. Hopefully get either Seabass or Yellows. If the water gets to 65 by next week we'll be golden. I noticed that the best day of fishing in the last 2 months was on the full moon, as this tends to happen, I will try to be out there each time the moon is round. They been catching thresher sharks around too, so might go try trolling w/ some mackerel this weekend.
I might sound dumb, but getting a fish is a lot like getting a wave out at pipe. If you don't go w/ a local who knows the spot, you're gonna spend a lot of time waiting, but the reward is going to be that much sweeter.
